Covid Update

Whilst we have contined to rehome whenever possible and viable under the tier system, we feel it is unwise and unsafe to continue to encourage rehoming during a nationwide lockdown.
If you have sent us a pre-adoption questionnaire, or if you are intending to, we are keeping a record of all applications during this period. As time goes by we may continue to offer a ‘virtual viewing’ and request ‘home visit’ video or photo tours so that we might have potential adoptors lined up post-lockdown, and where possible we will continue to take in emergency cases.
In the meantime we will continue to care for our foster cats and kittens to the best standards If you have any questions or concerns please feel to get in touch via the contact page.

If you would like to support us during this time please do click the ‘donate’ button below.

Thank you all for your ongoing support during this difficult time.

Welcome to Shropshire Street Cats

We are a non-profit making rescue and re-homing centre for cats based in Shropshire.  We have been operating since November 2013, previously having been volunteers for a branch of a national charity that was closed.  We rehome over 100 cats annually.

Our team is passionate about animal welfare and our core members are Jane, Bertie, Charli and Mims who between them organise Street Cats.   Maxine our foster mum also opens her cattery for the occasional Cat Cafe sessions, please see our Cat Cafe page for more information.  Jane, Jenny, Janet, Maxine, Liz, Trish, Annabel, Jo, Manda, Rhian, Chloe, Michelle, Tina, Karen and the Hoseleys are our foster mums. We also have a much valued core team of volunteers, Hazel, Pam, Penny, Bobby, Sharon and Megan and home visitors Anna, Caroline, Sally, Pam and Linda who we couldn’t operate Street Cats without.

Help with neutering

The weather is just starting to improve and those cats will be feeling frisky again!!! Now is the time to make sure that your cats are neutered so there are no more unwanted kittens!!!! Unneutered toms also risk contracting fatal diseases when fighting with other tom cats. Neutering cats is a priority for all responsible cat owners to stop unwanted kittens and the spread of disease in the cat population. Shropshire Street Cats can help with vouchers as one of Cats Protections Advocate Charities. If you need help and think that you may be eligible for help towards neutering costs please either pop into  Nantwich Vets,  Market Drayton , Wayland Vets, Whitchurch or Pets Choice Vet Centre, Stafford Park, Telford and ask,  or email us at [email protected] or text us 0n 07443507526.

Kittens are wonderful but they grow into cats, many who are dumped, neglected or not wanted. In partnership with Cats Protection we can help. Get in touch before its too late!

Visit our cat cafe today!

Like cats? Like tea and cake? Well we’ve just come up with a fundraising idea for our most loyal supporters.

We’re opening up our luxury rescue pen near Whitchurch as (probably) the UK’s smallest cat cafe. For a minimum donation of £5 per person come and see the cats we have resident, and enjoy some tea/coffee, biscuits and cake.

Terms: suitable for 1-3 people only. Strictly limited availability – our cats come first and many cats would not be confident enough to have visitors. We’ll advertise whenever we have a time slot available, and ask you to message if you’re interested. This is an opportunity to meet the residents, possibly with a view to adopt, although this is not required. We are not operating as a licensed cafe.

If you would like to go on the list to come and share tea and cake with our cats when we have a vacant spot please email us at [email protected]
